Sr. Network Engineer Summary

  • The Senior Network Engineer will manage and maintain the company’s enterprise network. You will be responsible for mentoring junior Network Engineers and will handle advanced support issues. You will be responsible for the management of the network, and the resolution of network issues.



Sr. Network Engineer Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for configurations and deployment of IT network infrastructure.

  • Primary interface responsible for network-related services carried out by the company’s installation vendors.

  • Understand and communicate customer provided networking design and implementation standards to assure accurate service delivery- training internal and field teams as required.

  • Develop organizational structure and ongoing workflows to deliver/maintain rigorous networking standards and practices across the engineering staff and company.

  • Designs, installs and configures network and security infrastructure and NMS/monitoring tools.

  • Assists with the planning, design, research and acquisition of new or upgraded hardware and software systems; maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommends modifications as required.

  • Maintains documents and updates the network and security infrastructure, tests and implements vendor security patches, implement workarounds for unpatched security vulnerabilities.

  • Troubleshoots problems with applications, network and security infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN appliances, proxy servers, DNS appliances and Wireless devices.

  • Makes corrective actions when necessary following change control guidelines and polices.

  • Create all required technical documentation in accordance with client's Change Control and project management processes and procedures.



Sr. Network Engineer Qualifications

  • 6+ or more years of Enterprise experience with routers, switches, VPN appliances, firewalls, proxy's, load Balancers, DNS appliances, wireless devices with experience of end-to end systems , implementation, operations and with TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting.

  • Network Design Certification(s)- Cisco CCNA or equivalent

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate, and manage complex projects: developing project plans/schedules; delivering a product or service in a timely and cost-effective manner.

  • Advanced communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical and technical audiences.

  • Ability to understand technical issues and apply solutions, technology, and products to meet a client’s networking needs

  • Experience with Cisco and Sonicwall Firewalls, Proxies, F5, Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), Cisco Identity Services Engine (Client)

  • Experience with UNIX/Linux.

  • Experience with dynamic routing protocols

  • Advanced understanding of performance and monitoring
